SOAP may be passing....

Hey Guys! So if you haven't heard about the SOAP Act, its a bill that censoring basically everything you do including youtube, facebook, twitter, megaupload etc.

I heard that this bill is in danger of passing and I hate to say this but..... if this bill gets passed, I'm gonna have to leave this group. I don't want to but I don't want to be censored on what I post or what I download that violating my rights. I'm also deleting my youtube, facebook, or any other social network device thats going on but thats ONLY IF the SOAP gets passed.

So cross your fingers that it doesn't. *crosses fingers*

I'm pretty certain this bill will not pass. For one thing it is unconstitutional and would limit our freedom of speech greatly. It will also put many companies out of business, and with our economy how it is, that will not exactly be the best action to take.

Congress gets a lot of silly bills such as this and they do not end up passing. So I feel pretty confident in saying that everything will be fine and that it won't pass.

Yeah, same here. I will probably be doing the same thing as Wish though if it does pass.

But, isn't it funny how there has NOT been a single word about it on the radio or TV? I mean, I'm pretty sure that someone like NPR or hell even Fox News would have talked about it. Isn't it scary (ironic, even) that I had to find out through the internet of all things? Plus, isn't this EXACTLY what China did to their citizens, censoring the internet? Why hasn't anyone brought this up? Kinda makes you wonder, huh?

I'm also very confident about this, Internet is a big international organ that brings millions of dolars to many economys, so I don't really bealive this will be approved.

Its been days since Internet strted taking actions and collecting signatures, I don't think we should worry about this much

But then think about this: when did Congress ever listen to petitions?

Good news though: Congress is divided into two; if it passes in the House, it will probably (most likely) fail in the Senate. Plus rumor has it that Obama might veto if it gets to his desk.

But what bugs me the most is that there hasn't been any news about SOPA and its similars outside of the Internet. You know what I mean?

It's okay!!!Yeah,that is annoying.There should be something on it SOMEWHERE other than the internet.Especially this bill that's about the internet.

I dont know anymore...I guess it is kinda disturbing...I really believe tis is a violation of freedom of speech and act, I also bealive this will eventually get killed at some point, or at leat I hope, cause It would take off the internet everything I love about it ._.

Exactly. But, I personally feel like there are just too many people in the Congress who just care about getting the bribe from the companies with the money. Besides this, there are other bills that will literally BREAK the internet. These Congressmen don't know anything about computers, hell even American history, not to mention Current Events either (hello? Is anyone going to point out how Communistic this bill is?).

My words to the majority of them is "Just get the F*** out." They are the ones that are going to turn this world into a living Hell and the majority of them are allowing it to happen.

And that's my two-cents. ><;; Sorry for ranting a bit.
